Calgon, Take Me Away
The Fords’ big break came when they were offered a job fronting a series of nationally televised commercials for Calgon bath products, which had them commuting between California and New York on a regular basis. But the fast-paced and fabulous lifestyle wasn’t for them. “We literally sat on the corner of 23rd and Nellie [streets] and flipped a coin to decide if it would be casseroles or cosmetics.”
