Jean and Jane liken their creative process to a game of basketball. “We’re all sitting on the floor, throwing things at each other in a circle…looking for a clean-cut, offbeat humor that really makes you laugh—or at least makes you curious,” they say. That explains the names of their new Crescent Row perfume trio, their biggest launch to date: Laugh With Me LeeLee uses citrus, melon, and violet to evoke a flirty innocence, while Something About Sofia’s freesia, peony, and vanilla notes conjure a certain Italian-by-way-of-France je ne sais quoi. (The Sofia in question is Sophia Loren.) The pink pepper, white lily, and patchouli mix of My Place or Yours Gina is—duh—the most sensual of the three.
Crescent Row fragrances, $36 each, available in mid-June at www.benefitcosmetics.com and in stores in July.
